On Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2024, a total of nine (9) lovely couples from Barangay Antipolo, Binalay, Camagong, Bagacay, and Tierra Nevada, legally sealed and solemnized their union for free in the Kasalang Bayan as part of the celebration of the 34th Civil Registration Month.
The Kasalang Bayan program is an annual initiative of the Local Government Unit of Tinambac, under the leadership of Municipal Mayor Ruel B.Tuy, who also serves as the Solemnizing Officer. This program caters to unmarried couples of Tinambac who wish to legalize their union without worrying about the financial burden that comes with weddings nowadays.
OIC-Municipal Civil Registrar Melody B. Velarde, Sangguniang Bayan Member, Hon. Ervin T. Borja, ABC President and Councilor Jerry B. Sarmiento, and other Barangay Officials, were also present to grace the occasion. To support the newly married couples, each couple was given one sack of rice, cake, and cash assistance from our local government. This gesture of goodwill is aimed at helping each couple start their new journey together on a positive note.
