BRIEF HISTORY OF THE BARANGAY

Mil-9 Tinambac, Camarines Sur was the original name of Barangay La Medalla which is from the total distance of Siruma, Camarines Sur to the Tinambac Municipality but later it was renamed as La Medalla in honor of the La Medalla Milagros. This place was declared by President Ramon Magsaysay as NARR A Resettlement Area during his presidency. People from different places came to dwell in the area. On the other hand, Mr. Vicente Bunot donated a small area of his land that sufficed the population of seventy (70) and thirty (30) households. Barangay officials both of the past years and the current years and the current made way in helping La Medalla grow. Kind- hearted me donated hectare of their properties. As of now it was a total number of households and a population of 716 composed of three hundred ninetytwo (392) males and three hundred twenty four (324) females.

Barangay La Medalla is located at the northern part of Tinambac and has a distance of twenty-one kilometers (21) away from Poblacion thus can be reached through a jeepney or motorcycle. Moreover, the place is composed of seven zones and has a total land area of seven hundred hectares (700). It is also bordered along with Brgy. Magsaysay on its northern part, Brgy. Sagrada- southern, Brgy. Agay-ayan- eastern, and Brgy. Bani on its Western part. Most of the resident are agriculturally inclined since the area is upland. These are in the form of farming while some are coconut plantation depend ents.

The Barangay of La Medalla, through its competent and God fearing barangay Leaders will promote peace and order, progressive economic condition and a balance ecology, towards attainment of better quality of Life.

MISSION

Through Peoples empowerment, participation and cooperation and through the support of NGO’s/PO’s and NGA’s. Brgy. La Medalla will deliver quality basic services answering the felt needs of the constituents.
