
Last January 12, 2023, six (6) registered organizations of fisherfolk from Barangay Buenavista, Cagliliog, Daligan, Filarca, Magtang, and Old Caaluan became the beneficiaries of six (6) motor boat units from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR). The distribution of motor boats is part of the utilization of our livelihood program worth one million pesos in the last 2021 Search for Malinis at Masaganang Karagatan (MMK) where every year our town always wins 2nd Regional Placer in this program of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR). Along with the activity, RARE Philippines’ turnover of monitoring and evaluation assets consisting of four (4) sets of masks, snorkels, fins, and booties that can be used by our Coastal Resource and Management Office as well as Municipal Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management Council for monitoring all natural resources of our town. Present was Mayor Atty. Ruel Brioso Tuy personally turns over the tools to the beneficiaries, Ma’am Catherine De Mesa-Aguilar, and AT Fisheries Jogie Sagales of the Coastal Resource Management Office of our local government.
