BRIEF HISTORY OF THE BARANGAY

Barangay Sagrada, is located at NORTHERN part of TINAMBAC CAMARINES SUR. It is 19 Kilometers from the town proper. The barangay lies at the central part of the Hinterland Sector.

This barangay was declared as NARRA RESETTLEMENT AREA during the time of PRESIDENT RAMON MAGSAYSAY, on that time the place was called CAMP LAMIT and CAMP 6 TINDUGAN.

LATER on, that place rename SAGRADA in honor of the SAINT PATRON SAGRADA FAMILIA.

The Barangay has a total LAND AREA of 12,194.0114 square meters and it is subdivided into 7 zones and 1 Sitio name GOGONAN.

It has two hundred sixty household and a total population of 1,367.48 percent of the populations are male and 52 percent of female.

The main source of livelihood in this barangay is coconut farming. Thus, about 80 percent of the household own a parcel of land to till, 10 percent are care takers and remaining 10% of the population are engaged in gold mining, fishing and play farming, charcoal making, skilled worker, driver and laborer.

In terms of technology awareness people in the community are not left behind they are already equipped with latest technology and almost every household have appliances that they utilized for recreation, and to make their living easy from the time of resettlement it starts the development of the place and become the center. This may have been because of the presence of the ELECTRICITY SUPPLY IN THE BARANGAY.

The people in this Barangay are generally peace-loving people God fearing, hardworking and very cooperative. This characteristic contributed unstoppable improvement of the barangay. In the different aspect and this make a barangay UNIQUE. 

In terms of dialect proficiency Barangay Sigrid are proficient in two dialects– BICOL AND TAGALOG only 60% of the population is good and understand English Language.

One of the prodigious events that will be remembered by the people of SAGRADA was the installation of the Holy Family Parish Priest of Roman Catholic last September 30, 2010. Reverend Father Larry Grando N. Mijares was the first Parish Priest. He came here last June 14, 2008, and he welcome by the Barangay Sagrada.

Its installation was realized when Reverend Father Abundo Nono Nopre worked hard for this, before he transferred to another parish. It was a big help for SAGRADA FAMILIA a Parish one.

Hard work, Unity, dedication of everyone in SAGRADA that’s why HOLY FAMILY they are now truly close to God because of the regular masses PARISH moved toward and everybody expected experience the feeling that they are now truly happy for it.

The Holy mass was regularly in the school every first Friday of the month at the secondary, and every first Wednesday of the month in the elementary.

Truly the construction of the HOLY FAMILY PARISH CHURCH binds the people of this community and nearby BARANGAYS. It stands as one family as the saying goes, THE FAMILY THAT PRAYS TOGETHER. The power and blessing the highest providence manifested through biding of every family of each community.

We celebrated our ANNUAL FIESTA every 11^th day of January, looking at the profile of the Barangay Sagrada it has already yield different people in all walks of life like Politician, teacher, engineer, carpenter, farmers, businessman, driver and some had gone abroad to search their good future.

However, it is in reality that in group of people having different orientation and up bringing those also few who often spend time in doing nothing commonly among are teenagers. It is also noted that only few pursue College education while others can hardly finish their high school in which the primary reason of this trend is Economic Status of their distance for the tertiary level of education.

Education and unity for the continuous progress towards a better way of living those cares to the surroundings, gives opportunity to all constituents and produce God fearing people.

MISSION

Improved and sustained human development and changed the lifestyle of the constituents, families, including environmental awareness through accelerated and sustainable, economic growth, promotion of equity and social justice to all constituents, provisions of basic services to indigents and depressed area, create livelihood projects and educational programs to strengthen the citizenry as the basic partner in the Barangay Governance leading a self-reliant Barangay.
