Last July 26, 2023, for the first time in the town of Tinambac, led by Mayor Atty. Ruel Brioso Tuy the formal swearing-in of the new and primary officers of the Tinambac People’s Council.
At present, up to thirty-seven (37) legitimate and organized Civil Society Organizations are composed of the Tinambac People’s Council with the desire to further enhance people’s participation in the community as well as in good, efficient, and fair governance.
According to Municipal Ordinance No.2, Series of 2017, or the “People Empowerment Ordinance of the Municipality of Tinambac”, the ordinance provides for the institutionalization of the Tinambac People’s Council composed of Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), and People’s Organization (PO) that will represent for the realization of the community needs and other community issues that will help in proper decision making and management under the local government.
Under the ordinance, all committees, boards, taskforces, councils, and special bodies of our local government will have four representatives of the Tinambac People’s Council as voting members.
The ordinance was passed in the Sangguniang Bayan of Tinambac in 2017 by Municipal Councilor Jonas C. Soltes, accompanied by Councilors Veridiana P. Cortan, Glenn F. Abiog, Oscar B. Brioso, and ABC President Arlene B. Abordo, under the administration of Major Atty Ruel Brioso Tuy.
Present during the event were Vice Mayor Edward Albert P. Prades, Councilor Kikay Delos Reyes, Councilor Jerome A. Geronimo, SK Federation President as well as Councilor Niel Bryan A. Romanggay, LGOO VI Josef Roi O. Armenta of the Department of the Interior and Local Government, and Mr. Alexander C. Alvarez, CSO Desk Officer can set local to government.
